Dominated by all you hated Blue eyes surveyed what they could see, squinting with the attempt to focus through the heavy fog that drifted through the area with little to no luck. Rin knew that coming here at such a time would be a dangerous and bad idea... but Kouhei insisted otherwise. Why, the Renamon wouldn't understand. Shifting his paws, Rin pushed against the rough bark of the branch to launch himself into the air - repeating the process again and again to move through the trees with ease, making his way back to the dark haired tamer. It had been easier to survey the surrounding area now that leaving wouldn't mean his tamer would be alone. With the appearance of his silver furred counterpart, things had been easier - a partner in crime always made it so. With a soft patter of paws upon the hardened ground, Rin landed next to Kouhei and the other Renamon which their tamer had dubbed 'Yato', shaking his head. "I can't see anything," Rin began, standing to nearly tower over the human male, "There's too much fog. Anything could be lurking among the trees" "Are you sure the message said Aokigahara Forest?" Yato tentatively asked, eyeing the raven haired boy. He knew what the answer would be, so the question was for not, honestly - but like the other Renamon, he had his doubts. This area was cursed, death lurking behind each tree, both digimon could feel that and had no doubt that Kouhei could as well - that not so subtle pull to darkness that consumed each inch of soil. Rin knew well what plagued his tamer's mind and that this area would only feed it and let it grow within. Kouhei knew also that this area was a place where countless people had brought an end to everything. It was something that both the digimon didn't want their tamer around, why the raven haired man insisted on coming here, even with his determination and will to follow through with the call through that message. "You don't even know who, or what for that matter, sent the message... or even if it was meant for you." "I can read, thank you." Came the sarcastic reply after a moment, the boy seemingly lost in the glow of the screen of his phone. "I don't care who sent the message. It came to me and I followed it here. Besides..." Kou trailed off, taking the rest to his thoughts as he clenched his jaw, lips tightly shut, It seems so familiar... the desperation in the message... the pain... how could I not? Regardless if it was a trap or not, Kouhei had the confidence that they could work their way through anything, even if it was just the three - and three was better than two. "Then what do you want to do, Kouhei?" Rin turned toward his tamer, tail swaying with uncertainty, a sign that neither Yato nor missed. Despite the two being the same species of digimon, Rin always did seem to be more in tune with their surroundings. Perhaps the fact that Yato was more carefree had something to do with it. "Darkness will fall soon... I don't recommend staying here any longer than that." I don't recommend being here at all, but that won't change things... It was a small push to leaving, but there was no way Rin would allow the trio to remain here longer than necessary. "Then until the sun sets, we keep looking. There's something here," He gave a determined look to both his partners, one they knew meant they'd be here longer than that... that they'd be here until they found what Kouhei was looking for - a sign that gave both Renamon a shiver. Damn their tamer being so headstrong. "And we're going to find it, regardless of what happens." That was certainly the last thing that either Renamon wanted to hear. This will make you ultranumb

You and I are partners in crime "Damn it, it's still not going through!" With a frustrated snarl, Cecil snapped his phone shut with a clack, even that sharp sound muffled by the dense fog that seemingly covered every inch of this unholy forest. Kou, where the hell are you? The blond thought with a ragged sigh, running a worried hand through his unruly blond locks, glaring at the hunk of orange plastic clutched tightly in the other as if all of this was somehow its fault. First, he received a message from an unknown number warning him that Kouhei Makoto was on his way toward Aokigahara, and every time he had tried to send a frantic message to the other tamer since, they bounced right back. Attempting to call him was even worse, the "Calling: Kouhei ♥" text flashing across his screen just long enough to get his hopes up that the older boy might pick up, only to crush them underfoot when the line quickly went dead, and with each failed attempt only adding to the unease churning away in the pit of his stomach. Calm down, Cecil: something could be blocking them or intercepting them - it doesn't mean he's ignoring me. Shifting nervously from foot to foot, he flipped the phone open once more, the light from the screen casting eerie shadows on his face as his thumb hovered over the call button, eyes going wide as the sudden realization that he was hoping for this to be a trap hit him and he gave a bitter chuckle. "I must be crazy...." But I'd rather be ensnared than have something happen to him. While he only moved to Japan a few years ago, he knew all too well the stories that surrounded this place, and with the dark turn the world had taken since the destruction of Hong Kong, no one quite sure anymore just how many people met their end in its depths, their last moments hidden from the rest of the world by the all-consuming fog. Shuddering, the forest's morbid atmosphere dragging his thoughts down darker trails than he would like, Ceci pressed the button once more, bringing it to his ear, silently pleading that he would hear a familiar voice on the other end. Come on, Kou, pick up! No such luck. There was the same dial tone as ever followed by the same sudden, abrupt silence as it cut him off. With a muttered curse, he closed it once more and, for just a second, considered throwing the damn thing at one of the nearby trees as hard as he could, but the spark of anger quickly burned out as the air stirred with the familiar sound of wing beats, turning to their source with a grim expression as Akihiko touched down next to him, the sudden breeze kicking up dead leaves. He looked away the second he caught something yellow and brittle poking through the uncovered dirt, his stomach dropping and heart hammering at the unwelcome scenarios it brought to mind. "Did you find him?" He asked bluntly, too worried for Kou's safety to spare the Hawkmon a warm welcome back. "I'm afraid not, thanks to this fog. I can barely see a few feet in front of my face in this." The avian digimon replied with a shake of his head, and tried not to flinch at the way Cecil's trembling fist tightened around his phone at those words. With no clues to Kou's whereabouts other than he might be in the forest somewhere there wasn't anything the pair could do but keep wandering around on the off chance they'd find some trace of the other, and they both knew it. Clicking his beak in concern for his tamer, the little bird patted his arm with one of his claw-tipped wings in an attempt to comfort him. "Hey, remember what I'm always saying: Kou has Rin there to protect him - he'll be safe even if they run into another digimon!" "That's not what I'm afraid of...." The blond whispered softly, shaking his head but giving his partner an appreciative pet, ruffling his feathers further - he was trying to make him feel better, after all - before turning his attention to the forest around them, searching out paths between the trees. Going in the direction Akihiko came from would probably be pointless, so they'd take another...deciding that one to his right was as good as any, he shoved his cell phone into his pocket and took off in the direction he hoped would bring him to the dark-haired tamer. "Come on, we should try covering as much ground as we can, as quickly as possible. I'm not going to leave him wandering around this hellhole without us." The Hawkmon nodded in agreement - what else could he do when Cecil was so worked up - and followed at his side, staying aground to conserve his energy for the time being. Without his phone to clutch, Cecil instinctively reached for the feather on his necklace, rolling it between his fingers as he stepped over roots, the occasional crunch underfoot of something that was definitely not plant matter sending waves of cold nausea through him. "Kou! Kouhei, can you hear me?!" He shouted, cupping his other hand around his mouth as a makeshift megaphone while Akihiko shook his head next to him. His human was certainly more devoted than he was intelligent, but if something did find them before they could locate his missing boyfriend, well...that's where he would come in. He was no Rin, but he'd be damned if he was going to let his tamer end up as something's lunch before they could drag Kou away from this damn forest. "Kouhei!" We don't need anything else

thick as thieves

He was used to being by himself, ever since he had revealed himself to be a tamer. Except for Ten of course, who seemed incapable of being separated from him. But other than the small bug Digimon, Leon was very much left to his own devices, which was fine by him overall. Sometimes he got lonely, but he did find ways to spend his time off from work. Like for the two days he had off this week, he figured he'd just go camping and look about in another area of Japan. It wasn't as if all the action could be in his district alone. So he took to Aokigahara Forest, with a tent and supplies to last him for the rest of today and tonight, and then the first bit of tomorrow as well. The only thing he was worried about was leaving his car outside of the forest, but he figured that it wouldn't be that bad. And Ten had agreed to check on it for him at intervals throughout.

The fog rolled in after he had already set things up, and he didn't feel like packing it all back up and driving back home. Besides, this was bound to happen sometimes. If he wanted to be able to get used to camping more and more, then he'd have to buck up and handle all sorts of different things. Of course he did now wish that he had brought stuff to be a little more prepared for less than stellar weather. He did bring a poncho if it rained, but he didn't know what he would do to keep warm if needed, except cuddle under some blankets in the tent. Building a fire would be rather difficult when he didn't have something to build it under to keep it from getting rained out. Hopefully it wouldn't start to do that though.

"Do you hear that?" Ten was suddenly still, head tilted up slightly, clearing listening for something. Knowing Ten for the past couple months now, Leon knew that he must have heard something that gave reason for pause. Also holding still, the human of the duo narrowed his eyes as he focused on his hearing, trying to block out all background noise. It was something he had been doing since he started his job at the castle, and he was slowly getting better and better at it. Of course he was still nowhere near as good as Ten, whom seemed to be a lot more keen on noises. "There it is again!"

He thought that he heard something, but he wasn't entirely sure what it was. Something in some kind of distress it seemed. But he couldn't make out a word, and he wasn't even sure if it was human honestly. It could have been a bird call, or something else entirely. Part of Leon wanted to just leave it be and simply head into the tent if it got any closer. But then another part of him wondered if it was something that he should actually check out. After all, he was a tamer, and he was supposed to be watching out for anything Digimon related. Just in case it was trouble of evil Digimon trying to further Milleniummon's attempt at merging this world with theirs. Plus he was going to be looking around and get a feel for stuff going on in this area anyways, right?

Jerking his head to signal for Ten to follow him, Leon began to move toward where he thought he had heard the noise. Since his partner didn't question him, he figured that he was indeed moving in the right direction. He had no clue how far away this thing was, and really wasn't even paying attention to how long he was walking. All he was doing was keeping an eye out and taking in everything, as well as marking trees with a Z that had a line running through the middle. It was random, and something to help him find his way back to where he was camped out at. The last thing he needed was to get lost in this forest, with this fog all around him, making it very difficult for him to be able to remember details to help him back. Suddenly, he was stopped by Ten whom had poked him in the shoulder before pointing towards a shadow. It looked to be... a human form maybe. Leon felt his heart beat a little faster, the fog covering the identity of the shroud's owner, making things a little more intense. "H-hello?" he finally managed to get out, doing his best to keep his voice from betraying the anxiety he felt.
