Tokyo. It was a place that he never had a chance to come to until now, but had heard great things about it from his mother, who visited it when she could. Her visits, those rare occurrences, were often during times when family seemed to call her away from the peaceful times in the states. Of course, her excuses for why she couldn't bring him along had gotten quite old in the past few years.
"I'm sorry dear, your grandma is sick, and she doesn't want kids running around her house, while she's ill," That had been the least used one, followed by, "Hun, you have to go to school, a boy you're age needs a proper education," Or hell, his favorite lie of all time, "You're not old enough to be on a plane, they have age restrictions and I have to pay a fine if you come with me.."
It had taken a few years of understanding and the painful realization of why he hadn't been allowed to come with her. Even know it was enough for him to grind his teeth in anger. The simple fact of the matter was that his mother's family, his so called family, hated him. It had little to do with him as a person and more about the fact of who is father was. The Tenshin family were very particular about who they let in to the family tree and if you weren't born full Japanese you were considered an outcast, even if you had married into the family.
A sigh fell from the young youth's lips as he reached up and placed a pale hand against his forehead, shielding his eyes from the glaring, and beaming rays of the sun. He realized , that he must have looked absolutely ridiculous, not to mention crazy to the neighbors, standing in front of his Grandparent's house, looking out at the huge building with annoyance against his features. In the states, the cops would have been called by now, he probably would have been looking at four walls of a holding cell for even trespassing on another's property. With his vast knowledge of Japan down at negative zero-point-nothing, he assumed he would be safe for now. How long that would last, he could only guess. But still, he hadn't come all the way here to glare daggers at a house, of people, he could care less about. He turned, and looked around neighborhood, taking in the pleasant morning breezes and the loud buzzing of the residents as they started their days.
Everyone here appeared normal enough. There was no sign of disturbances here or there, hell the only person who seemed out of place was him and his appearance certainly wasn't helping. While many of the people in this tiny country could fit themselves in a clown car and ride along the street like nothing was wrong, Alex was definitely the giant among dwarfs. Standing at the height of 5'7 and weighing one hundred and sixty pounds, Alex wasn't a huge man but the small bounding of muscles against his arms and legs, certainly wasn't helping him fit in. Not only that but his lightly dusted, and unkempt pink hair, strangely barren shirt that exposed most if not all of his chest, light-colored knee-length trousers and Caucasian features weren't helping him either. Thanks to his mother, he held just a tiny bit of his Japanese heritage in the shape his eyes, nose and chin shape but other than that he stood out fairly easily and honestly that's the way he liked it!
He didn't care what these people thought of him, because in the end, he would still be their hero and be there to save the day!
"Alex, why exactly are we still here," The feminine voice was enough to draw the young male's to his side, where a small red creature sat perched. It appeared as a small dinosaur like creature with a rounded red body and a various black markings around its tiny body, but its eyes were the most unique of its features. Gold, yellow with an intensity as hot as the sun, stared up at the boy with a vast intelligence and eagerness in its features. "Shouldn't we be out searching the area for potential threats?"
The question was a simple one, one that should have had a simple answer. The entire reason why they had come here was because of these strange sightings around Tokyo. It had been months before, on Alex's nineteen birthday, when this strange message had appeared on electronic devices around the world and that vile creature known as Millenniummon had made his appearance. That very day had changed Alex's life and n a few short minutes. He had met his partner digimon, gotten a strange device called a digivice, and had become the very thing that Millenniummon had been talking about. A digimon tamer. To put matters simple. It seriously had been one crazy day!
"Alex...?"
"I know, Adar. It is my duty as a hero to protect and save this world, but even you have to admit there doesn't seem to be much danger here, so let's relax until something comes along, okay? How about we go and eat something! I'm starving!"
The young digimon could only sigh and shake her head. Large, amber eyes turning to narrow on the blue digivice against her master's belt. Despite his vast recklessness to dismiss the topic at hand, the evidence of no potential danger was found by either scent or by her tamer's digvice. It seemed, for now, that there was nothing to worry about. But who knew how long that would last....
