HISTORY Sita was born into a lower-class familyliving on the outskirts of Hong Kong. Her childhood was normal, interrupted only by the arrival of a brother when she was three and ayounger sister at age ten. It was when she was a young teen that thetrouble started. She caught several older boys picking on her brotherafter school on day and got into a fight with them. Being bigger andstronger, they easily defeated her, and as her brother helped herback home, she swore that she would get strong enough so that shewouldn’t lose so easily next time. Her parents reluctantly signed her upto a martial arts course on the condition that her brother alsoattend, but it wasn’t long before she had left him behind in termsof skill and interest. As she grew stronger and gained moreself-confidence, she realized that everyone around her was weak. Noneof them – her brother included – would last long if they got intotrouble, unlike herself. Instead of growing cocky with her new-foundstrength, she became distant, withdrawing herself from everyoneexcept those she deemed worthy of being associated with. As she moved into her first senior yearof secondary education at age 15, Sita’s grades began to drop asshe found herself less and less interested in her studies. Worriedthat their oldest child was setting a bad example, her parentsscrambled to find a solution, eventually enrolling her in cramschool. Frustrated at the situation but knowing there was little shecould do about it, Sita grudgingly went to her courses and did allher work, eventually earning her diploma of secondary education threeyears later. Then the Digimon attacked, and herwhole world changed. Luckily, she was outside the city when theattack happened, testing out a motorcycle she had been eyeing for awhile. From a mountaintop, she watched Hong Kong burn and realizedthat she was finally free. The next few months were chaotic as shewas placed in a refugee camp with some of the other survivors, eventually hearing Millenniummon’s message in full from the personshe shared a tent with. Of her parents or siblings, she had no news, and she didn’t feel much like trying to find them. Once thegovernment deemed her old enough to make her own decisions, Sitadecided to leave China completely behind and make a new start inanother country. She had always wanted to see Japan, so she choseTokyo as her destination. The boat she took only went as far asNagasaki, but Sita had been allowed to bring her motorcycle along, sogetting to Tokyo wouldn’t be a problem. Or so she assumed, notrealizing that Digimon were already ravaging the abandonedcountryside. For the most part, her bike was fast enough to outrunthem, but one afternoon a Digimon appeared that was fast enough tokeep pace with her. Sensing that it was the end, Sita stopped herbike and waited for the monster to kill her. But another Digimoninterfered, defeating the attacking one with relative ease. She wasthen handed a ‘Digivice’ by the new Digimon, and told that shewas a Tamer and its partner. The rest of the trip to Tokyo wentsmoothly, and upon reaching the city, she soon fell in with alow-level gang eager for a Tamer like her. As her life settled down, she slowly realized that she could do whatever she wished with herpower. In theory, she was supposed to be fighting for the humanworld, but she saw nothing that told her that it should keepexisting. Sita swore that she would help bring the walls downsomeday, but until then, she would play her part as a dutiful Tamerprotecting the city.
MEMBER NAME: Sita AGE: 25 OTHER CHARACTERS: No one, yet. ROLEPLAY SAMPLE [this was done for a Pokemon site] “Anyone interested in some magic tricks? If so, step right up and take a look!” Nero called, grinning broadly at the curious residents who stopped to take in his show. He was going to do a simple act today, nothing fancy, because he had just arrived and was rather tired from the journey. Waiting a moment to hook the interest of those gathered, he produced two small black balls with a flick of his wrist and held them out. “These are ordinary rubber balls, see?” A few bounces on the pavement were enough to demonstrate that fact, then he transferred one of the ball to his free hand and held them out palms flat. “Or are they…?” Closing both hands at once for an instant, he opened them again to reveal two compressed Pokeballs, the crowd gasping in surprise at the sight. It was a simple enough trick to perform, but it got them every time. “Allow me to introduce my partners, Meowth and Rattata!” With a flourish, Nero threw the Pokeballs into the air, using the distraction of them opening to slip the rubber balls he had started with out of his sleeves and into his pockets. Those gathered around applauded as one Pokemon landed on each shoulder, and he spread his arms wide and grinned again. “I’m sure you have seen people juggle before, perhaps even with fire, but have you ever seen Pokemon juggle?” Heads shook to indicate they hadn’t. “No? Then you’re in for a treat!” Bending to let his Pokemon hop onto the ground, he watched as Hunter sat down, Ball moving to stand in front of her before carefully curling himself into the tightest Rattata ball he could. The crowd murmured at this, and Nero smiled knowingly and handing the Meowth the two rubber balls he had used previously. As she began to toss them up an down, the teenager quietly circled around to the back of the crowd, scanning the group to see who would be the easiest target. He settled on a man who had foolishly left his wallet sticking out from his back pocket. Timing his movements so that he struck when Hunter picked up Ball and added him to the juggling routine, Nero carefully slid the wallet out of the man’s pocket and slipped it into a pouch on his back that was hidden by his cape. Moving back to his previous position a few seconds before the juggling act ended, he clapped along with the audience and then stepped forward again. “That’s quite a show, but we’re not done yet!” Two more acts should be enough to entertain everyone, and then they could call it a day. |
