This life isn't good enough; how many
hundreds of years have I lived until now?
But no matter what, I can try again
with the Life Reset Button.

Being at the shrine was nice, Hailey decided as she settled against a wall, her writing pad propped up on her knees. The atmosphere was calm, quiet, relaxing, three things more than conducive to poetry, and she had already written multiple poems inside the small notebook. Some might have thought that the peace would be broken by the Digimon she had brought over with her, but actually, Blackout had been quite good company, all things considered. He had sat down on some of the smaller steps with a magazine full of 'Spot the Difference' puzzles and a bottle of ink that had taken her a few weeks to find in a novelty shop but that the BlackGuilmon obviously appreciated from how often it was used. He may not have been as fond of the Spot The Difference magazines as he was books of sudoku, but when they'd dropped by a convenience store earlier, the little dragon had already solved the three that were available.
'If not to die,
Then to what end
Were the broken ends
Tied up?
Dust and shadows,
Rust and thyme,
Everything comes,
And everything goes.'
Her pen tapped against the side of her leg, and she sighed quietly, catching the attention of her partner. "Everything all right, Hail?" he asked, getting up and padding over to her.
"Yeah, I'm fine, Black," she replied, reaching up to stroke the base of his ears, earning herself a purr from the little dragonoid. "Just dealing with a bit of writer's block is all."
He glanced at her pad and frowned, tail shifting behind him. "Hail..." he began before he sighed, the Digimon not really knowing what to do. He hated when she got like this, and he never really knew how to fix it. Instead he nudged her head, letting his breath huff out on her emerald hair. "Can we play tag or something?" he asked, deciding to change the subject. "We don't have to be loud or play for very long. Just enough to get some of your muse back."
Ordinarily, the BlackGuilmon couldn't stand tag, but it always made Hailey feel better - or distract her at the very least - and if playing the fool was what it took to cheer her up, then Blackout would happily do so.
