This life isn't good enough; how many
hundreds of years have I lived until now?
But no matter what, I can try again
with the Life Reset Button.

Hailey's step was quiet, measured, as she picked her way through the forest, soaking in the ambience. She had been wanting to pen a poem for a friend she had met only a week or so ago, Oliver Radleigh, and so far, nothing had come. It was as if there was a pebble in the middle of a brook when it came to trying to write about him, and no matter how slight it was, the rock was preventing any flow from moving past it. So she had come here, to one of her sanctuaries, in the hopes of striking her muse. Blackout was sticking close to her, the BlackGuilmon sniffing at the air every now and again for possible threats.
She knew that he was really more concerned that she would try to hurt herself again, but she was doing better about that. She hadn't harmed herself since she'd met Oliver, and though occasionally her fingers would itch with the urge to carve crimson trails across her skin, she would content herself with her poetry. She wanted to see Oliver again, as strange as it was, so that she could give him a poem. She wanted to write for him, no matter what he thought of it. Sighing softly as she settled against a tree, deciding not to climb up it to soothe her partner's worries, she brought out a small notebook and started writing in it.
'Your dark eyes hide
The troubled past
Your scars betray,
Misguided soldier.
Just how did you
Wander so far
From your path,
Misguided soldier?'
She drew her pen back just in time for a loud something to quake the earth, causing her to lift her head, eyebrows pulling down as she got to her feet. "Blackout, what's going on?" she asked softly.
"I... I'm not sure..." the BlackGuilmon replied, his tail waving in the air as he tried to climb up the tree a little ways with his claws, the nails fixed in the bark and slowly slipping downwards under the force of his weight. "I can't see anything... but that doesn't mean there's not something there."
"A Digimon..." she murmured softly, closing her eyes with a sigh. It looked as if destiny was knocking at her door, intending for her to pay it back for being saved all those years ago by that Tamer. "All right, Blackout. We're not going to go looking for trouble." They weren't quite strong enough to handle such a thing alone just yet. "But if anything comes at us, we'll defend ourselves. We owe it to the world."
