Hiroto Matsuoka
Hiroto Matsuoka Twenty One Noble Hiro Loyalty Data, Mixed FACE CLAIM: Hei ANIMANGA: Darker Than black GENDER: Male HEIGHT: 6'1" WEIGHT: 185Ib APPEARANCE Hiroto is a very tall and imposing figure, standing at a six feet and one inch. Overall, his build is lean, yet muscular, and he’s definitely not someone people would be likely to mess with alone. He has a relaxed psture, though he doesn’t slouch. He keeps his black hair short and slightly messy, and it often partially covers his dark blue eyes. When idle, he usually keeps an even expression on his face, though a light smile is not uncommon for him. His skin is slightly tanned from time spent outdoors, though definitely not dark. As far as clothing, Hiroto likes to keep things simple. He usually wears white or light gray tee shirts, and a pair of blue jeans. Over the shirt, he usually wears a black jacket, which he rarely zips up unless the weather demands it. Likewise, with footwear he prefers comfort to style. He usually wears a worn pair of black or brown tennis shoes in fair weather, or if it’s colder he might wear a pair of black boots. On his right arm, intentionally covered by his jacket, is a long, ragged scar going from just above his wrist to his elbow. LIKES

HISTORY Hiroto was born in a small city a few miles away from Tokyo. He was the second child of a middle class family made up of him, his older brother by five years, and his parents. They weren’t rich, but between the two of them, their parents made more than enough money to support their family and give their children a happy and stable home. Overall, Hiroto’s childhood was pretty uneventful. He had friends, got fairly good grades, and looked up to his older brother. The elder Matsuoka doted on his younger brother, and even though they were quite a few years apart, they remained the best of friends. Then, when Hiroto was ten, their mother gave birth to another child, this time a baby girl name Kanae. Like his brother before him, Horoto spoiled the girl, and was determined that she remained happy for the rest of her life. However, things weren’t perfect in their family. Hard times in the city in which they lived had lead to their mother losing her job. While this didn’t matter much, as she didn’t mind staying home and keeping an eye on her newborn child, this did put added stress on Hiroto’s father as the now sole provider for their family. He had to take extra hours in order to support the family of five, and slowly went from the kindly man he used to be to a much stricter father. Slowly, Mr. Matsuoka’s new, more volatile personality began clashing with his eldest son’s. While Hiroto couldn’t glean much information hiding behind doors as they yelled, he did know that his father wanted his big brother not to go to college, and to stay and help support the family. These arguments grew more heated by the day, and a few times they very nearly became violent. Then finally, when Hiroto was fourteen, his brother sold what few possessions he had and bought a plane ticket out of the country, without saying a word to any member of his family. Apparently this was something he had been planning for some time, as he had gotten his passport and other necessary documents in secret. Their eldest’s departure had a cataclysmic affect on the family as a whole. Hiroto was heartbroken that someone he considered his best friend would abandon him without saying a word. His mother fell into depression, feeling that it was her fault for being too preoccupied with Kanae to intervene in her husband’s nightly battles with her son. However, the worst effect was on his father, who couldn’t cope with knowing that he had driven his son away and turned to alcohol to relieve his guilt. Almost overnight, Hiroto had become the only functioning member of his family. He knew that his mother wouldn’t be able to go back to work in her condition, and that it was only a matter of time until his father’s drinking got him fired or worse. He didn’t have time to miss his brother. So, at the age of fourteen, Hiroto dropped out of school to try and take care of his family. Being so young, he wasn’t able to find any one high-paying job, so he had to settle for a number of low paying jobs. He didn’t mind the work so much; in fact he found that he actually enjoyed being busy all day. However, he found it hard to take care of his sister, work three different jobs a day, keep his mother sane, and keep his father out of the gutter all at once. Not to mention the fact that the money he made was barely enough to keep them fed. He needed help, but he couldn’t turn to his relatives. They would be likely just to take Kanea and him from their parents and be done with it. So, he decided that he would have to bring either his mother or father back. Slowly but surely, he did manage to at least make his mother function again, and she was able to take care of Kanae while Hiroto worked. His father, however, was a different story. The man was just too far-gone, and no matter how much he tried to bring him back to normal, the man just couldn’t face his guilt. In the end, a car hit him as he was crossing the street, drunk. Hiroto worried that losing her husband would cause his mother to fall back into her depression, but on the contrary, she just seemed that much more determined to stay with her children. Things finally seemed to be looking up for them, but that didn’t stop a growing resentment that had taken root in Hiroto. He traced everything, from him dropping out to his family going into turmoil back to his brother leaving. As the years went on, his animosity towards his brother got to the point where he would put his fist through a wall at the mere mention of his brother’s name. In spite of this, he still tried to maintain some level of happiness, if not for his sake then for his mother and sister. He still spoiled Kanae, the one innocent member of his family as far as he was concerned, and spent whatever free time he could scrounge up doting on her. Just when their family was finally starting to go back to some form of normalcy, the digimon invasion began. At the time, Hiro didn’t pay much attention to it. He was sure that it would eventually affect him, but why would these invaders attack some Podunk town constantly shadowed by its massive neighbor? Which is why he was surprised when a evacuation order was given in his town. Everyone was going to be moved to Tokyo, where they were building a wall to protect it. At the time, t seemed like more of a nuisance than anything else, as his family prepared for their move. However, on the day of the evacuation, everything that could have gone wrong did. The digimon had gotten wind of the plan to relocate everyone to Tokyo, and so in an attempt to take out any tamers who may have been hiding there, they launched a sneak attack the day of the evacuation. It was complete chaos, everyone more concerned with getting themselves out of the city than helping anyone else. Hiroto’s family ran to the transport that would take them to Tokyo, which was being protected by tamers. Just as they were about to make it, a Vilemon came out of nowhere and attacked them. Hiro tried protecting his mother and sister, which only lead to a massive wound on his arm. They ran from the monster, but just as they were about to reach the evacuation area, a stray attack hit just behind them, catapulting them through the air. Hiroto and his mother escaped with only a few broken bones and some burns, but Kanae wasn’t so lucky. She had landed on her head, losing consciousness and not waking up no matter what. As they were taken to Tokyo and safety, the medics informed them that she was in a coma, and they couldn’t venture a guess about how long it would last. Hiroto and his mother were devastated, and when they arrived in Tokyo the only thing they could do for the first couple of days was sit by her hospital bed, hoping she’d finally stir. However, after a week, they began to lose hope of her ever waking, though they didn’t have her life support removed, in hopes that she might one day return to them. Ms. Matsuoka couldn’t stand to go back there anymore, but Hiroto continued to visit weekly, or whenever he wasn’t searching for a job. It was coming out of the hospital on one of these visits when he first met his partner. In the beginning, he wanted nothing to do with the digimon, after all as far as he was concerned, they were the cause of his sister’s condition. It even came to the point where he threatened the creature with violence. However, he never backed up those threats, and the digimon never said a cruel word to him. Even so, he was determined to keep the digimon out of his life. That was, until, he was nearly mugged on his way home from another unsuccessful job hunt by a group of punks. His would-be partner came out of nowhere and chased them off, though one of them did injure it. Hiroto finally realized, as he checked the digimon’s wound, that not all digimon are like the ones that had hurt his sister. From then on, he promised himself that he would use his abilities as a tamer to protect people, and keep what happened to his family as result of the war from happening to anyone else. MEMBER NAME: Ghost (Gee, aren"t I original?) AGE: 17 OTHER CHARACTERS: None ROLEPLAY SAMPLE Mick smiled when Jack walked in with three pokemon for him to choose from. Mick ignored the (overly) dramatic reunion of the couple and focused on the pokemon, realizing that he would have a hard time choosing one. The croagunk seemed a little. . . disinterested, and Mick had to admit that of the three, it was the one he was least exited about. It was a strong pokemon, but he had never really cared for poison types in general. He focused his attention on the duskull and the solosis. The ghost type was pretty interesting, and it would work with the whole "masked coordinator" thing. But it didn't seem to like sunlight very much, and that could be an issue. The solosis, on the other hand, didn't seem to have any apparent issues, and in fact seemed pretty cheerful. A psychic type could probably take him far, and its cute appearance would probably help him in contests. On the other hand, psychic types weren't known for their ability to take a hit. Mick noticed Jack's not-so-subtle signal to hurry up and pick, and decided to heed it, lest he be here when Jill lost her patience with him. Finally, he made a decision, but in the end, it was up to the pokemon in question. He smiled at the solosis, who floated over and started circling his head, almost like it was in orbit. "Well, I think it's obvious who chose me" He said with a laugh. Mick nodded and looked back over at Jack and Jill. "I'll be taking this one." He said with a smile, obviously confident in his decision. After all, a masked coordinator with a duskull? He thought to himself as he watched the psychic type continue to "orbit", Sounds like something out of an anime. |
