ARTEMISIA i was in the darkness so darkness i became | third time's the charm Blue eyes watched with some form of amusement as the dragonoid digimon hung from the branch below. It was the closest branch to the ground, but had taken him a bit of time to actually get there…after all, dragons were not meant for climbing. Well, he certainly wasn’t meant for climbing, which Ladon found a bit upsetting. Izzy had climbed the tree first – he thought she maybe had a thing for heights, as she liked climbing up onto her rooftop too – and he was just trying to follow his tamer because she sure looked lonely sitting on that branch all by herself. What kind of partner would he be, if he didn’t fix that? Thus, his current predicament. His top half was currently holding into the branch, as his lower half – legs and tail – dangled. More than once, he tried to pull himself up but his foot kept slipping…so, there he was, just dangling on the branch. His bright eyes looked up towards his tamer, narrowed as they noticed her amusement. He couldn’t help but inwardly grin though, as it was one of the few times he heard Izzy laugh like that. Most of the time, people thought she was quite serious or stuck up, so he was quite happy to know he could at least bring out this relaxed side of her. Even if it meant being stuck on a branch, in a tree, in the forest. "Izzy," he called to his tamer, elongating her name with a complaining tone. The raven haired girl merely raised an eyebrow, a small, but genuine smile on her expression. Ladon huffed, attempting to bring himself upward once more but still unable to get his legs up and keep them from falling off the branch…again. "It’s not funny!" "Have you ever climbed a tree before?" she asked, curious but still amused with the sight before her. She was usually a serious type of girl, sure, but there was just something about Ladon that seemed to break down her defenses. No matter how hard she tried to keep them up – granted, it took him quite a bit of time, but he eventually began to wear them down. "…No…" he muttered, legs kicking once more as he attempted to pull himself up, with the same result as the last four times. Ladon huffed once more, legs flailing in the sixth attempt to get up on the branch in the last ten minutes. Artemisia, as she watched her partner get frustrated, smiled from her spot on the branch she perched herself on. "Mind over matter, Ladon," she called out, to which the dragonoid digimon’s eyes narrowed in determination as he attempted to haul himself up onto the branch. His leg slid off the branch once more, and he was getting a bit tired of just hanging there. Unluckily, when his leg slipped, so did his grip and instead of finding himself on the branch as he planned, Ladon found himself back on the ground, a bit disoriented from the fall. Literally, shaking his head to get rid of the lingering dizziness, Ladon glared at the laughing girl. "this isn’t funny, Izzy!” he complained, before crouching low, tail wiggling in anticipation as he attempted to climb the tree once more. He would climb the tree and he would show it who’s boss around here. Eyes narrowed, he began to climb the tree again. It took him two tries this time, to hang onto the branch, in the same position he had been prior to his fall. Izzy glanced at him, an eyebrow raised and he huffed, what could be interpreted as a smirk on his expression. Challenge accepted. TAG: OPEN NOTES: feel free to join~ |
