HISTORY Shuusei and his sister were born and raised by their parents in the bustling city of Tokyo, Japan. Shuusei had always been someone who placed others above himself. It was probably the influence of having a little sister, and caring parents who would usually remind him that he's the older brother and that he should be taking care of younger ones well. There was no doubt that he truly treasured his family, to the point he gave up time with friends to be with them. His family was unlike most families in Japan. His parents were traditional to a certain extent, but they never forced their beliefs and traditions onto their children. Shuusei's father would often tell Shuu to take the time to explore as much as he can, and not to fear the unknown. As a result, Shuusei was often very curious and open-minded, willing to try out new ideas. Shuusei was a rather reserved kid, in contrast to his sister, who was carefree and spirited young girl. It was a common sight to see the younger Hatsuharu child dragging the older one around. He couldn't say no to his beloved sister, and he would usually let her drag him around. He wasn't the kind who would voice out his true thoughts. Even if he didn't like it, Shuu would just go with the flow. Kaori once complained that her older brother was hard to read and all Shuusei did was just gave her a knowing smile of the sorts. Not that he was keeping any secrets from her, but that was just how he was. Shuusei hated it when people attempted to pry into his mind. In fact, there was a time that Kaori had prodded him incessantly to reveal his true thoughts, Shuusei snapped. His voice dropped dangerously low, and he had threatened his sister that he would destroy her cellphone if she continued to do the same thing again. To Shuusei, his thoughts were extremely private and no one else should ever know what he was thinking. Actually, Shuusei just hated people knowing his real thoughts because he was scared that his vulnerabilities would be the very thing that destroyed him someday. He didn't like appearing weak, and he also hated it when his emotions got the best of him. If one were to see it from a totally different perspective, Shuusei was afraid of saying his true thoughts because he was scared of losing control over his emotions. Shuusei wasn't one to indulge in his studies back in those days. In fact, he absolutely hated it. Although he liked to make his parents happy, he would attempt to avoid homework whenever he could. I mean, what kind of kid actually likes homework and studying? He would often be seen reading comics or playing video games. His grades weren't exactly the best in class, but he wasn't the worst either. His favorite genres of games were mainly role playing games or fighting games, and it was during then that he had developed an interest for martial arts. When he turned thirteen years old, he asked his father whether he could take up karate, to which his father easily agreed. However, that open-mindedness of his was not to last. Shuusei's fear of losing loved ones only came into place when Kaori was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the young age of twelve. Shuusei was only fourteen then. The sudden news threw the Hatsuharu family into a great state of disarray. No one really knows how Kaori had gotten struck with such a condition, and it hurt to see the youngest's health deteriorate day by day. Although Shuu's parents did their best to provide money and support for her to get better, Kaori eventually passed away. After her death, Shuusei was greatly affected by it. Still, he was well aware he needed to be strong for his family. He bottled all his feelings of frustration and grief, and acted as though nothing much has changed. Kaori's death gave him a motivation to want to become a doctor so he could save lives, and he studied hard enough in order to get into college. Shuusei's well aware of Digimon existing in the real world, and there were those they called normal humans and the tamers. The walls were built when he was thirteen years old, some time after his sister's death. Although Digimon was generally the talk of the town, Shuusei paid little heed to it. He didn't see the point of having a Digimon anyways. Well, until he woke up, saw a Digimon in his room, and then proceeded to freak out. MEMBER NAME: Michiyo AGE: 18 OTHER CHARACTERS: No one else yet ROLEPLAY SAMPLE "Onee-san, get ya butt down here!" That only elicited a sleepy groan from the obsidian-haired boy, still buried underneath a pile of blankets. Shuusei slowly blinked awake, finding himself staring at an empty corner of his bedroom, where the sunlight from the window spilled in. Kaori's incessant yelling kept increasing. His beloved little sister really loved to torment him on Saturday mornings, didn't she? "Onee-san!" From this day forth, Shuusei officially declares his dear little sister as a sadistic person who wants to make his Saturdays a living hell. Now his sister was right outside his door. With great effort, he dragged himself out of his bed, giving his bed a parting wish, and opened the door. "What?" he said, giving his sister an expression similar to a scowl. His sister greeted him with a beaming smile on her face, and in her hand, there were two tickets. Upon closer inspection, he noticed that they were... "Tickets to Mitsuki Kujikawa's concert? How'd you even get that? Dad and mum allowed it?" Kaori nodded quickly, and Shuusei could not hide the grin that was making its way onto his face. "Because it's a special day today. Happy birthday, Shuu onee-san!" |
