tara hunt
open - feel free to join in!
"Obelisk, I swear, you can't go and let people push you around like that!" scolded the woman as she rolled up her sleeves and turned the tap on. “You know my policy: the instant someone starts getting too wild, we kick them out. I’m not letting the bar get a bad name from some bub who thinks he can get away with being dangerously rowdy.” Water shot out from the faucet as Tara Hunt, proprietor of the bar, continued her rant. “Remember when we got that biker from Kyoto and how he almost started a fist fight in the back? I nearly took him out myself.” Tara shook her head, reaching over for a dirty glass, “For a week I had people come in and ask me if this establishment was safe. Safe. I mean, for god sake, sometimes we have kids in here! Young tamers who can handle themselves, but let’s face it, they’re still kids.” “But, do you see my point, Obelisk? If you let people, customers, push you around then it could turn into something more aggressive,” the woman continued as she washed the dishes, “It’s not good for business and it’s not good for you.” Tara sighed, lifting the glass as clumps of bubbles splattered down onto her arm. “Plus, what if they hurt you? I don’t want that.” The Solarmon looked back at Tara, the pokemon’s eyes staring coolly back at his partner. "I do not let people push me around. The last incident took place in a five minute, 35 second segment before it stopped." Yet, regardless of Obelisk's words he was still grateful for Tara's concern and protection. Their friendship for each other had grown strong over their six years together but until Solarmon digivolved, he felt that he couldn't protect himself or his tamer. Obelisk hovered around the bar stools, staring at Tara’s back as the woman did the washing. He knew his friend meant well and that she wouldn’t let anything happen to the small Solarmon, but sometimes Tara was a little too much for Obelisk. A little too pushy. Yet they were a family and all too loyal to leave each other. Obelisk made a small noise of understanding as he settled paitently on the stool. Turning her head around, Tara looked her crestfallen partner. “Hey, why don’t you go hang that paper up on the door, alright?” Dutifully, Obelisk hovered over and retrieved the already taped paper in his metal claws. Pressing the announcement to the inside of the door so it showed outward, the digimon looked back at Tara with a quizzical expression on his face. “That? Oh, I think you’ll like that. We’re going to have a music competition. It’s going to range from anyone who wants to sing some bad karaoke to those who want to show off their natural given talent. Something to cheer up the spirits of Tokyo so to say,” Tara smiled, looking at the Digimon. “Go ahead and unlock the doors. Maybe we’ll get some weary people looking to take a break from the unrest and maybe, just maybe, we'll have someone to talk to.” |
