He has long orange hair and bright blue eyes, the result of his European settler heritage despite the immediate and extremely present claim of being Korean in origin. His body is rather lean and willowy, coming up to six foot seven inches, but don't let appearances fool you; he knows how to make use of every inch of those limbs, and his choreography is always stunning when he's moving in the center of the stage, perfectly lining up with the other dancers. His muscles, while slight, are there, and he keeps himself in shape, needing a bit of muscle definition for the videos that he shoots. Because of this, he comes in at two hundred and three pounds of nothing short of almost pure muscle, very little fat being allowed to remain on his body between the dancing, the stress, and the physical exertions. His skin is surprisingly pale for the amount of time that he spends outside, though there is a light dusting of a tan from the sun. Sunscreen goes a long way: A little protection today can prevent skin cancer in thirty years, and that's what counts, right? As a performer in a vocal group, there are very few outfits that Hyun hasn't worn in his day. He's worn leather, vinyl, satin, silk, velvet - the wardrobe department has fun with his concerts and videos. That being said, however, it's obvious that in private, the young Korean has his own style. He likes loafers or boots, something that's easy to move in, and he usually wears jeans of some kind, even if they're rarely the usual faded blue that so many people wear. He likes button up shirts with three-quarter sleeves on his chest, sometimes accompanied by a jacket if the night is particularly nippy, or a sash or scarf. On his wrists he'll usually have a small adornment of plastic bangles in a variety of colors that tabloid magazines have tried and failed for years to identify - the main reason for this failure is because they're actually rather cheap things that his siblings found at discount or party stores and continue to send to him since he has such a preference for them. He wears a pair of blue plastic stud earrings in his ears, though he'll alternate them out for other colors if they fit his outfit better, and sometimes the outfit will be completed with a hat. All depends on how he feels when he wakes up and what he's doing that day. HISTORY The Kwan family may not seem like it, but they are Korean. Hyun is Korea and his parents are Korean and their parents are Korean and their parents were Korean. The disconnect comes from their grandparents' grandparents, who were actually European settlers that came over in the spice trade. Nonetheless, the Kwans are decidedly Korean, and Hyun was born in Seoul a healthy young boy. He grew up with his sister Seung and his brother Kyung always getting in and out of trouble, and it soon wasn't uncommon for the young man to start taking responsibility for his younger siblings. A nudge here, a gentle push there, and he could keep them on the straight and narrow, headed off towards the future. Maybe that was what initially pushed young Hyun into singing as a hobby. Either way, however, he loved to just sit on the stoop with his guitar and strum, writing his own songs and playing them for his siblings, his friends, his neighbors: anyone who was willing to spend a little time with him to listen. He got a job as soon as he was able to so that he could have a little bit of money, but he wasn't trying to save it to fulfill his dream of being able to see the world one day. No, he got the money so that he could squirrel it away for his siblings to go to college. He wanted them to get a decent education, and when he was offered a job as a DJ, he took it. It left him exhausted when he'd stay up late working the music for the club, but it paid well. The young man was running himself ragged keeping up with school and his job. He was missing sleep and his friends were starting to abandon him because he had no time to spare for them; he was too focused on his goal of sending Seung and Kyung to a good college. He didn't even have the time or energy to really keep up with his usual song-writing on the guitar, and instead, when he would sing, it would be in a quiet moment at the club before or after hours. He was nineteen with no prospects. No dreams. Only the urge to make sure that his siblings could do well in life. But that saying that good things happen to good people? Well... it held true for Hyun. He was singing softly while setting up for the night when a talent scout happened to walk in the door and hear him. Instantly, the scout was hooked on the boy's soft croon, and Hyun was made a deal he couldn't turn down. He could quit his job and become a pop star with the chance to provide for his siblings beyond their wildest dreams, or he could remain plodding through the system. He took the offer and first started recording. He was twenty at the time he was signed, and since then he's only found a certain love for the stage and for singing that's left him happy. He's never found anyone worth dating, and while he's sung many a song solo, there's a certain spark that lights up inside him when he's singing alongside others. He's inquired about possibly finding a group to enter, but so far, he's had no success. Since then, he's not had the time to really consider it, not when he's acquired a new partner, a Digimon, and is trying to wrap his head around what's happened since then...
