we'll never be royals

It was three weeks since he had come back from the US, and so far Leon felt that he was doing pretty well in being a part of society. Even as a tamer, somebody who wasn't always trusted, he had a place here in Japan. With everything going on, he wasn't certain if he could get a job, especially where it seemed that the worst of everything was happening. But it was obvious that tamers were being hired for more security jobs it seemed, obviously in hopes that they can keep the threat of the Digimon at bay. Without a college degree, there wasn't really a whole lot more he could do anyways. Luckily, Osaka Castle seemed important enough that it was viewed as a good security measure to have a tamer in its detail. He'd only been working there for the past week and a half, and already he felt like he was actually making a difference, even if only to make people feel just a little safer.
Dressed in uniform, Leon roamed the halls of the castle, on the look out for any suspicious activity. Ten was on another floor, and the two of them were connected by radio, a headset on each of them. At first they were strictly told that they were never to be separated. It was obvious enough to Leon that the people in charge were just afraid of the Tentomon doing something unsavory. But after Ten had successfully defeated another Digimon, even he had gained enough of their trust that they felt this would be more efficient. Now the two of them together could cover more ground, and they didn't even have to pay the Digimon. Of course they did offer Leon a raise. Nobody was stupid enough to actually have this happen and not give some sort of recognition for the additional value in the work.
"Anything the least bit interesting on your end at least?" Leon said after pushing the button on his head set that would transmit what he said to Ten. The one on his own head was just like any ordinary head set one would wear for communications. But the one that Ten wore was tweaked a little, and instead of a button, there was simply a small hole that he could place one of his claws over. When that was covered, it would read to transmit the same way that the button did on Leon's. It made things a bit easier for the bug Digimon, as it was a bit more difficult for him to press a small button.
"Nope, nothing here," came the response. Leon sighed, taking a look out of the window, to see if there was anything out there. At first he didn't see anything, sweeping the area with his eyes quickly. "But it looks like there might be somebody outside, on the eastern side of the castle." Just as Ten began to talk about it, Leon thought that he could see just what he was talking about.
Immediately making a dash for the stairs, he began to take them two at a time. "Coming down now, but you can get there quicker. Let me know what it is as soon as you can tell." He continued down the stairwell, coming from the third floor and already past the doorway on the second floor. Down more, he finally reached the first floor and ran to the door that would take him out to the east side of the castle. So far, he still hadn't heard anything from Ten.
