COOL KIDS
He sees them talking with a big smile, but they haven't got a clue. Yeah, they're living the good life, can't see what he is going through. They're driving fast cars, but they don't know where they're going. In the fast lane, living life without knowing. I wish that I could be like the cool kids, 'Cause all the cool kids, they seem to fit in.
He could feel his very person just melt, religiously watching the clock as it ticked away second by second. He anxiously looked around, seeing if anybody else was finished with their test. Beads of sweat dripped from his forehead and found their way onto his desk. He hated that he was like this whenever a test was coming. He wasnt even this nervous when it came to championship games, but for some reason, math test make him quiver in his shoes. Ken started to scribble random answers and numbers, thinking that hopefully that he would get them right. At this point, he wasnt aiming for a high grade, he just wanted to pass. The bell rung, reliving of Ken's stress. He quickly picked up his bag and handed in his test with a small smirk on his face.
"How did you do, Ken?" Artemis poked her head from out of his bag and smiled sweetly at him.
"Not very good, I think. But its just math, so important can it be?" Ken answered, walking through the front doors of the school, taking in the sweet breath of freedom. The slight breeze whistled through both their faces, as Ken looked at the sky.
"So off to soccer practice?" Artemis' soft voice spoke. Ken thought about it, but he shook his head, thinking that he has already enough practice and he was the best player on his team, or so he thought.
"Nah, Its such a nice day outside, we can afford to skip one day of practice."
"But wont the coach get angry with you? I mean if you..."
"Don't worry." Ken patted his digimon on its head and laughed. "He wont find out, besides, what's he going to say? You're not allowed to have fun?" Artemis always worried about Ken's troubles, like she didnt have enough of her own. But it was one of the things that Ken liked about Artemis, although he could live without her constant worrying.
They both wandered into the forest, something that the always did with their spare time, with Artemis running ahead of Ken and him trying to find her. "Come on, Artemis. You know what happens when your alone." Ken waded through the branches and leaves, examining his surroundings. It was hard for him cause she was so small, but eventually she would always get scared and run back to him. Though Ken wasnt prepared for the sneak attack that Artemis had unleashed, jumping from a tree and landing on his head
"Gotcha." Artemis exclaimed, covering Ken's eyes and laughing. Though there was something that caught Ken's attention, something that was rustling in the trees ahead. Ken wasnt scared but sure enough Artemis was. "Who's there?"
