School was boring, like usual, but it had long since passed for the day. She hated being so young, such a child that had to listen to all the teachers who thought they knew it all; while she did what she was told- for the most part -she was part of the majority who counted the seconds until they were all let out. Despite her year and so in Japan she was still getting used to the culture of it all. There wasn’t a week that she forgot to stand and greet the teachers when they came in to teach, forget that she didn’t have to change classes or how much yen she needed to pay for lunch. Everything was all new and exciting but damn was it a pain to remember and get used to. Her father assured her, with time, she would get used to it but she would still like to skip those awkward moments when all her classmates would laugh at her silly ‘american mistake’.

Unlike the countless days roaming around the busy districts of Japan until her mother blew up her phone with calls to come back home AdeLie Gray had plans. A student- Ryan Karasu -and herself had planned to meet up later that day after school to spar with their Digimon partners and it was a challenge that the girl happily took with a little more competitive spirit than needed. Shoving the books into her bag and waving off her friends AdeLie took off to their planned location by train with Therese in her arms, the yellow armadillo Digimon questioning her tamer all the way to the train.

The busy city quickly changed in the windows as the train sped to its designated stops, the young student watching the scenery go by as Therese began to speak. “So you agreed to meet up with some random boy to fight in a forest?” she asked, head resting on the nodding girls lap. “What if we get lost or something happens?” AdeLie grimaced, sighing with frustration to the question before looking down at her partner. “We’ll be fine, don’t worry so much. You sound like mom.” she began, “plus i have a cellphone and you, we’ll be fine.” With a moment of silence the Armadillomon nodded, knowing best not to push an issue that may upset her tamer.

It hadn’t taken too long to get to the Shirakami-Sanchi forest from the nearest station by her school, and after an embarrassing moment of mispronouncing the name of the place to a local who she had asked for help AdeLie was happy to be so far away. ‘I need to start getting used to this place faster...’ she thought, grabbing Therese off her lap once her stop came. Exiting the doors and entering the station AdeLie sighed, happy to be off the train and able to move her feet before placing the Digimon down to walk the rest of the way. “I don’t know where exactly we’re meeting but it shouldn’t be too far.” she began as she headed forward with her partner right beside, “I mean- I doubt there’s a bunch of kids running around this place so finding him should be easy.”
