TONIGHT, WE ARE YOUNG!
gonna set the world on fire!
"Its strange....I never really took a good look at the wall from the plane...Even more proof that I seriously need to pay more attention to where people take me...."
Sighing as she leaned against a nearby fence, Amanda shook her head before lugging her book-bag over her shoulder. It had been a interesting few weeks since both her and her father had moved to Japan. The transition was something that took time to adjust to. Aside from what she had heard on the news, the place had been known for being a hotbed of activity from creatures from another planet. Something that both new comers had been skeptical over. Yet as time went on, they began to find out the most strangest of events came from what she had seen lurking outside her window one day. A creature with a large head, green eyes and claws, peeking into a bush at the foot of the apartment complex in which they had come to live. Naturally, it went away after some time, but it just seemed to confirm that maybe...otherworldly beings weren't such a crazy notion after all.
It helped that it wasn't her that noticed it. The news seemed to speak on it briefly now and then, though it was minor on details outside of what people were supposed to do about it. That job seemed to be left to others....tamers...in fact. Upon hearing the idea that national defense against these monster came from random people that walked around with these things as pets, Amanda was certain that this was no doubt, the most insane idea on the face of insane ideas. Not that she would say much about it, the last thing she wanted was to piss off a tamer and end up getting eaten or something. But the idea was nuts. Or at least it had been.
Walking across a small bridge, the blonde haired teen placed a small set of ear buds into each ear, tangling the small cord that remained upon each around her finger before stopping at a crossing point amidst a crowd of various faces. Each one seemed to tell a different story, a certain activity that they lived with or had to accomplish each day. It made her wonder if she her own appearance gave anything away? Did her pink jacket and denim skirt give off the idea of her being a tamer? Maybe she smelled like one? Or perhaps there was some kind of side affect to being hugged by a monster from another plane? She wasn't even sure how it happened or for that matter why it did?
What began as a typical Saturday at home had turned into a frenzy. It had been two weeks ago, and Amanda had been left at home to fend for herself while her dad worked late. Still new, she had not made any friends. In fact..she felt almost isolated by them...at least the ones within her home room. Most of the time during break, she would find herself eating alone, sitting alone, or simply being lonely while the rest of them would go off and eat in a park near by. Guess it came from having such a close neat group, people that you grew up with. It was just what she had back in New York, of course now she didn't. The good news was that the swim team had an opening, she only had to try out. Maybe once she did, she'd have a social life again.
That was at least what the teen told herself, as she sat in front of the tv within her living room, a bowl of popcorn upon her pajama covered lap, looking on at what could only be international humor. Though to her, she found herself barely able to keep up. Language tapes and books could only do so much with only a few weeks notice. Just watching the display left the girl with a pouting look. She could only think of one thing for a girl in her position.....Sad.
Of course, that was when she heard something at the door, prompting her to reach for the remote at her side to shut off the television. As the noise continued, Amanda rose up after removing the snack bowl from her, walking slowly along the wooden floor as she arrived at the door. Standing on her toes, she looked through the peep hole to see who, but could not see anything aside from something that seemed like an orange surface. But she did hear a voice, asking if she could help him find someone? In truth, it didn't seem like the brightest idea to just open a door and help a stranger. But it almost sounded like a little boy, causing her own motherly traits to come in.
Big mistake....
Upon opening the door to reveal her Hello Kitty pajamas to the hallway, it turned out that she had something far worse to worry about than her non existence social status or even her appearance. What came next...was the very same thing that was happening to her right now. In fact, already she could feel something change in the air.
Getting to the other side of the street, the girl began to see a odd opening within the crowd, almost as though they were moving out of the way of something. The parting of the sidewalk managed to get her full attention, especially as a noise seemed to muffle through the sound-waves coursing through her ears. It was then that her eyes saw it, and they grew larger as the being rapidly approached. Red belts covered wide spread claws, a serious gleam remained in it's eyes as the being advanced. Amanda slowly removed the small pink buds from her ears, squinting her eyes as she could heard the gasps of people as the creature rushed passed. Though soon her blue eyes grew larger once more upon finally realizing just what this being was.
"Oh god....no..."
Knocking people off their feet, tipping over one person's small stand, the light orange creature with sharp claws and teeth closed it's eyes with glee upon seeing it's friend so close. It even seemed to be laughing as it speed increased.
"AMANDA!!!"
From there, it launched itself into the air, the dragon landed upon the girl and toppling her over with ease. Laid under him, the girl winched before feeling the large head of the Agumon nudging against her face, his eyes still closed as he loving sat on her chest.
"There you are!! You were taking so long to get back, I thought I'd come find you! It was easy! I know your smell any where!!"
I bet you do...."
Eyes narrowed as she managed to sit herself up, the teen looked over to the crowd before grinning nervously as they seemed to glare towards them. If they hadn't thought she was a tamer, they seemed to know now.
"Um....sorry...about that...Heh...heh...."
The creature mimicked the actions of his tamer, waving at the same moment as she did while people slowly began to continue about their business. Though as he looked down towards his tamer, he could see the girl's frown and began to nervously laugh as he scratched the back of his head.
"I ....guess I made a mess huh?"
"Understatement Grunt....now could you please get off!?"
Rising up from the girl's extended lap, the teen slowly rose as well. Looking quickly towards her book bag, she began to see if her laptop was still in one piece, all the while lecturing the dinosaur that stood at the level of her forearms.
"Grunt you can't just run off like that on your own! Especially when you have no idea where I am..."
"But I did know! I told you I could smell Omph!"
Lowering his jaw with one hand upon his snout and the other under his chin to close it, the teen glared as she shouted towards him.
"DON'T TALK ABOUT HOW I SMELL!!??"
Realizing how much of a scene she was causing the girl's face turned bright red as she released the Agumon's head before storming off towards the park nearby. Blinking, the creature quickly followed after her.
"You do smell nice though...."
"Please just don't talk right now...."
