Mel stepped off the train, swatting at another hand that reached for her, and made her way out of the station and down the street. The station was only a few minutes walk from Tsubaru's school, which is why she got on this one instead of the one that went closer to the house. Auntie didn't like Tsubaru walking home alone, especially after she'd heard what their father had done. Mel sighed and lifted her school bag over her shoulder. She'd gotten used to the routine now.
She pulled the blue and white device from the side pocket on her bag, looking at it as she walked down the road. If this was a real digivice, then where was her partner digimon? She put it back in the pocket as she neared the elementary school. Ah, there he was. Tsubaru waved at her from the gate as she neared. He turned to say something to his friends before running to catch up as Melina passed the building.
______
Hm... She was around here somewhere... The Dracomon looked around from his perch in a tree. He could sense her. But where was she? Maybe he needed to cause some chaos to draw her out. Well, that could be arranged. He sucked in a breath and shot it at a nearby light pole, causing it to spark. The gathered people started to panic, and Dracomon launched himself out of the tree. He couldn't fly, not really, but he certainly tried. He crashed into the pole, knocking it over. The people started running away, and Dracomon could tell that the girl was getting closer.
_____
"Do you hear that?" Tsubaru asked.
"I hope it's not another attack," Melina sighed. Tsubaru ran ahead and she ran after him. Yep, toward the screaming. And there was a weird blue-green creature with red horns...? He didn't look anywhere near as scary as the other huge Digimon that had attacked before. She looked at the little thing, meeting his eyes. He moved toward her, only to be hit with an attack that came out of nowhere, sending him flying. He stood and growled at the attacker, but Mel reached for her digivice without thinking. She felt different about this digimon. There was something different about him. But... What was it?
