Jeremiah Webster
Jeremiah Olivander Webster Twenty-six Noble Jer Sacrifice Gomamon, Coronamon, Lunamon FACE CLAIM: Judal ANIMANGA: Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic GENDER: Male HEIGHT: Five feet, seven inches. WEIGHT: One-hundred-sixty-three pounds. APPEARANCE Jeremiah tends to be an individual that people remember. His figure is rather slender, almost femininely so, but don't let that fool you - he's got enough strength to his figure to be able to take care of himself without having to rely on someone else like a damsel in distress type figure. He's a little pale because of his tendency to hide out indoors working on puzzles or crunching the numbers for his little host club, but get him inside and comfortable, and he will often spread himself across a sunny ledge in a manner reminiscent of a cat. In spite of that, he burns rather easily, so his skin will either be a light cream or a shade of healing pink from when he forgot to bundle himself up or apply sunscreen properly. His hair, when let down, is a long waterfall of ink that comes down to his ankles, something that took him the better part of six or seven years to grow out and is actually something he's quite proud of when he's not complaining about how much time it takes to wash it and then work out all the knots to make it the soft curtain of ebony that it is. Usually, however, the hair is kept up in a braid that dances around his calves, though to keep the look from looking altogether too dorky, he also has enough loose strands that have been cropped short to give him slight bangs to frame his face. His eyes, however, are the most noteworthy part of his appearance, the orbs a twin pair of glittering rubies that are absolutely breath-taking for those who weren't expecting them. It's when people explore Jer's taste in clothing that things get a little... odd. He tends to dislike shoes, and as a result it's not particularly uncommon to see him padding around his apartment or his office with his feet bare, though he will put on a pair of light flip-flops or sandals when he goes out because he doesn't like the idea of all the dirt that's on the ground getting on his feet. If he's feeling particularly playful, he'll wear a few gold anklets on his right foot, but usually he goes without them, instead donning a pair of baggy black cotton pants and a cropped black silk top with gold trimmings that leaves his shoulders, arms, and midriff exposed to the elements. He will furnish the outfit with a cream or tan shawl around his shoulders for warmth, and when he goes outside in colder weather, he'll often bundle himself up with as many heavy coats and scarves as he can get away with, hating the cold with a firm passion. Past flirts have suggested that he get some type of piercing, but the very idea of it makes him balk, so he's remained without piercings. Instead, he finishes off the outfit with a gorgeous gold collar accented with a ruby inset at the center, though he will do without the accessory when he feels the need or if he thinks it's too much for the day's outfit. HISTORY Jeremiah isn't like those kids who always was in and out of trouble as a child. In fact, for all intents and purposes, he had a rather uneventful childhood. Rather surprising given that his father was a circus performer and he spent a larger portion of his youth travelling with the troupe his parents began, but nothing of particular importance happened. Sure, there was the incident when he was five and one of the lions got out, chasing him up a tree and sowing the seeds for his later pathological fear of animals, but he wasn't hurt and his father managed to rescue him, so there was no real harm done. He did okay in his school work, home-schooled along with a few other kids who went with the troupe, but he wasn't so good or bad at it for the matter to be considered noteworthy. His little brother was born when he was five, and the elder soon enough fell in love with the other boy, becoming the best elder sibling that anyone could have asked for. He protected and encouraged his younger sibling, doing everything he could to foster that bond, and even if it was stormy and three in the morning, he was always willing to open up his bed for the younger to sleep in, just to give him a little bit of comfort. It was what any good older brother would do for his siblings. Of course, not everything could last the way it was. The circus was drawing less and less of a crowd with each new locale, and soon the group had to face things realistically. They couldn't keep going, they were out of money. Jeremiah was ten when the adults gathered themselves together, grim-faced, and came out an hour later. The group was splitting up, and everyone was going to different places. Several were snapped up by the movie business or amusement parks, others found their way to alternative circus groups or zoos - the Websters were more than fair with splitting the money that was left over among the members, and the family soon found themselves moving to Japan when Jer's father was offered a job as a director for a small-time movie company. The youngest Webster absolutely adored the fact, always quick to point out that his father was making movies, but Jer wasn't quite as exuberant; like his mother, he saw through the smiles that the man would turn on them to see the exhaustion and stress lurking just behind it. Mother and son tried their best to relieve the stress on the man, especially knowing that his side of the family were prone to rather poor heart health, but there was only so much that they could do. After a particularly stressful week, Jer's father had a stroke that left his left side paralyzed; The boy was only sixteen, and his father was considered more or less an invalid. He had his family depending upon him to supplement his father's income, so he did what he did best: He took a deep breath in and stepped up to the plate. Jeremiah first tried to get a job as a waiter. But the hours were long, not something that he minded all too terribly, and the pay was little, something that he could not afford in his situation. Desperate for money to support his family, he first got into a host club, lured by the promise of money. And sure, a large part of him hated being hit on every day, but it was a sight better than some other choices in business, and besides, it paid rather well. Four years went by, and he graduated from school, but his father's condition was only worsening. He had to give up his dream of going to college overseas, instead taking online classes for a small business school, and within a year of obtaining his degree, his father finally passed away. Jer was devastated, as was his little brother, but when he tried to take the younger on to relieve the burden on his mother, she refused, instead pushing him to do what he'd promised his father he would do: open his own host club to try to take care of both the hosts and the clients. That was where he first got the idea, and he used all of the money he had saved, as well as part of what his father had left him to start the business, taking three years to establish the host club and restaurant that he now calls his own and takes a sense of pride in. But before long, his brother came to him with a business idea. And Jer, never able to tell the boy no, agreed to help him, taking out loans and lending whatever money he could to help his little brother. So what if he's going back to the lean times he thought he had gotten past? His little brother needed him. Sure, the situation may not have improved when he found his Digimon partner rummaging through the trash behind the place and then took the creature in, but what was he supposed to do, leave them out in the cold?
